VFS Student Project - Unreal Engine

DAWN’S LIGHT

SUMMARY

Dawn’s Light is a 10 min. gaming experience that was created over the course of 2 months as a student project at Vancouver Film School. It is a 3rd person action-adventure taking heavy inspiration from the SoulsBorne genre of games.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Created a full Dark Souls style level through a full pipeline including

    creating a Level Design Doc, 2D Layout, Level Blockout and

    Set-Dressing.

  • Worked in an existing project that contained code and Blueprints

    that were initially set-up with the use of an 80-page onboarding

    technical document.

  • Created VFX particles using Unreal Engine’s Niagara Particle System

    to help direct player exploration such as godrays, fires, and magic.
